  • The Anthropology Department seeks a part-time assistant to work with museum archaeologists and eleven teen scientists on two laboratory projects and one field project this summer.
  • The work will involve supervising and assisting teens accepted into the Teen Science Scholar Program. Students will process paleobonatical flotation samples from an ancient bison-kill site from 10,000 year ago, and wash artifacts from a pueblo community from 1,200 years ago. In addition, we will be working on preliminary research (oral history, survey & ground penetrating radar) of a nearby historic site. The Program Assistant will help staff in logistics, supervision and the research process with these students.
  • Work will be dirty, often outdoors, and will involve some heavy lifting and moving equipment. We will take a number of field trips to off-site locations related to the research. The Program Assistant will, at times, supervise at least eleven students directly and will be responsible for their health and safety as well as their research methods.
