Plexus provides headquarters-level support across the Environmental and Sustainability program areas. Plexus Scientific Corporation is seeking a Cultural Resources Program Professional in support of our contract supporting the Office of the Chief, Army Reserve. Plexus provides headquarters-level support across the Environmental and Sustainability program areas. The following provides a summary overview of the anticipated duties and functions for this position. The preferred candidate will have experience performing similar duties in these areas:
- Experience reviewing determination of NHPA eligibility and negotiating complex section 106 consultations that result in an MOA or associated mitigation negotiations
- Ability to negotiate compliance agreements with state historic preservation officers and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and experience in developing agreements to resolve cultural resource management issues
- Experience supporting tribal consultations. Knowledge and familiarity with Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
- Understanding and experience with both archeological and architectural aspects of cultural resources
- Reviews of subordinate command's ICRMPs
- Provides review of NEPA documents for sections related to cultural resources
- Ability to produce complex, clearly-written, well-documented studies of publishable quality to support planning, preservation, management, and public interpretation of cultural resources
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field (meeting the Secretary of the Interior's standards, 36 CFR, Part 61)
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the Cultural Resources Management field
- Familiarity with GIS, databases and data analysis, and Microsoft Office products
- DoD or federal agency experience preferred. Experience coordinating with Master Planning, Real Estate, and/or MILCON organizations a plus
- Public speaking and/or training experience a plus
