*About the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences (CAHSS)*
CAHSS is DU's largest and most diverse academic unit and is committed to transformation across the arts, humanities, and social sciences. It includes 17 schools and departments, ranging from anthropology, history, and philosophy, to religious studies, music, and theatre, and is home to multiple innovative centers and programs, including the DU Prison Arts Initiative, the Center for Art Collection Ethics, and the Casa de Paz Learning Community, to name just a few. The work of CAHSS influences every undergraduate and over 300 graduate students on campus.
*Position Summary*
The Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving for the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences (CAHSS) reports directly to the Executive Director of Development in CAHSS, and is part of the Development team in Advancement. This newly-created position is focused on helping the College grow its base of philanthropic support and supporting a new, incoming dean's vision / academic funding priorities. Joining a team of three established advancement professionals in the College (two major gifts officers, one alumni engagement officer), the Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving will be part of a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative team. The role is focused heavily on qualification of prospects, as well as cultivating relationships with and soliciting those with capacity to give gifts of $1,000 - $50,000. While the main focus of this role is working with individual donors, the Director will also manage a number of foundation relationships, including soliciting annual and one-time foundation gifts under $50,000. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, collaborative fundraising professional who will be deeply involved in the strategic annual fundraising efforts for the College, with an emphasis on new donor acquisition, upgrades, growing donors to the Crimson & Gold Society, and developing a pipeline for major gifts. Success in this position will be measured primarily through the metrics of qualifications, visits, solicitations, and dollars raised.
*Required Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* 3 years of fundraising experience, including experience managing a portfolio of donors / prospects.
* Experience and demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, solicit, and steward gifts from individual donors.
* Experience and demonstrated success in raising annual and/or major gifts for an institution of higher education, large nonprofit, or similar complex setting.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience working in a university setting.
* Experience in grant writing.
* Experience working with leadership annual giving donors (gifts of $1,000 - $50,000).
*Work Schedule*
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some nights and weekends as required.

*Salary Range*
The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $77,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
