University of Virginia, Anthropology Department is located in a university designed to be a model for new world citizens. Faculty in the 1960s-70s created the Department of Anthropology to provide undergraduates with a critical introduction to human variation in time and space, and to train graduate students to be creative and responsible teachers, researchers and citizens for our world.
